Sydne Nance is a trained architect and designer. She believes design should be rooted in context, heritage, and led by sustainable practice. She collaborates in practice through research and design with these principles at heart.
With a commitment to improving the broader architectural community, Sydne engages in service to her community and through design practice. Sydne was named Associate of the Year through the AIA New Jersey Chapter. She has been recognized with the Emerging Professional Award through the American Institute of Architecture Students and Stewardson Keefe Lebrun Travel Grant through the Center for Architecture New York. She previously contributed as the Editorial Assistant and Archivist for Madame Architect, a digital magazine celebrating women in architecture and design.
Sydne holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Hillier College of Architecture & Design at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. During her undergraduate studies at NJIT, Sydne was a member of the American Institute of Architecture Students and served as Chapter President in her final year. In 2022, Sydne was selected to serve on the AIAS Honor Awards Jury. Throughout her time in architecture school, Sydne competed for NJIT’s Women’s Track & Field team. With strong values of mentorship, Sydne mentored two cohorts of incoming freshmen in architecture and design fields for NJIT’s Educational Opportunity Program.
