Sydne Nance is a designer and artist creating works rooted in context, heritage, and sustainable practice.

With a commitment to improving the broader architectural community, Sydne engages in service to her community and through design practice. She serves on the Newark Landmarks and Historic Preservation Commission. Named Associate of the Year through the AIA New Jersey Chapter and recognized with the Emerging Professional Award through the American Institute of Architecture Students. Ongoing projects include “Where We’ve Been: The Gullah-Geechee Architectural Footprint”, a transatlantic study of vernacular and heritage architectural traditions in the American Southeast and Western Africa, funded by the Stewardson Keefe Lebrun Travel Grant through the Center for Architecture New York.
